December 1999 - Press Release Nisshinbo's HIQ-1525/30H CNC Turret Punch Press High-Capacity and Speed, Low Maintenance Atlanta, GA - With it's patented POWER MIZER™ Hydraulic Servo Ram and the ability to run Wilson Wheel® Tooling, Nisshinbo's HIQ-1525/30H Turret Punch Press provides a high capacity, multi-functioning and cost-effective fabricating unit. The heart of this CNC turret punch press is Nisshinbo's patented POWER MIZER™ hydraulic servo ram with full position feedback. The speed of the ram's downward stroke is programmable, and the most efficient ram pressure is automatically selected from a range of nine levels. HIQ-1525/30H's maximum 33 tons of punching force (30 tons metric) is harnessed by POWER MIZER to ensure the lowest impact force possible per operation for quieter running, reduced energy consumption and maximum tooling life. An optional 55 tons (50 tons metric) of punching force is also available. Contour Cutting and Forming Partnered with the Wilson Wheel® family of vertical wheel cutting and rolling tooling from Wilson Tool® International, the HIQ-1525/30H punch press is capable of a variety of contour cutting and forming operations. Nisshinbo pioneered the application of this cutting edge tooling to punch press equipment, permitting high-speed cutting and forming of offsets, louvers, ribs or slits along any contour at speeds up to 2,000 ipm. Equipped with Wilson Wheel cutting and rolling tooling, the HIQ-1525/30 is truly an all-purpose fabricating machine. Specifications The HIQ-1525/30H handles workpieces of 2500 x 1525 mm (98.4" x 60.04"). Maximum material thickness is 6.35 mm (.250"). X / Y location accuracy is ±0.1 mm (.004") with auto-index of ±.05°. This machine offers simultaneous 5-axis control with maximum axis speed of 60 mm/min (2,400 ipm) and a production rate of 260 hits per minute on one inch centers and 650 hits per minute at the nibble. Three auto-index stations, two 3.5" and one 1.25" are standard, allowing precise control of the angle of punch rotation. A 4.5" auto-index station is optional. The standard turret has 37 thick and 39 thin stations; with optional 46 and 50-station turrets. Auto-index speed is 30 rpm, bi-directional. Standard programmable clamps eliminate manual clamp positioning and are exclusive to the HIQ 1525/30H and it's smaller counterpart, the 1250/30. Color graphics, 3.5" diskette program storage and RS-232C data transmission are standard features of the 32-bit multi-tasking graphically programmed industrial control.
