Updated! April 1999 - Press Release Nisshinbo CNC Turret Punch Press Boasts Big Performance in Compact Package MAP-500's Hydraulic Ram Ensures Quiet, Low Impact Punching Atlanta, GA Nisshinbos MAP-500 shares many of the productivity-enhancing features found on its larger counterparts in the Nisshinbo line of hydraulic CNC turret punch presses. Full CNC 3-axis control, 22 tons (20 metric) of punching force, the ability to accept oversize sheets and Nisshinbos exclusive "no haggle pricing makes MAP-500 a perfect choice for end users with limited floor space - and budgets. With a machine weight of five tons and height of 75" (1,900 mm), the MAP-500 occupies a floor space of 90" x 67" (2,265 mm x 1,700 mm). The single-piece closed-box frame design requires no foundation and is composite-reinforced to reduce noise and vibration. DC servo drives, X & Y-axis linear guides and precision ground lead screws ensure punching accuracy of +0.004" (0.1 mm). MAP-500s hydraulic ram performs quiet, low impact punching through material up to .250" (6.35 mm) thick, generating full tonnage throughout the stroke. The maximum workpiece size of 39.4" x 19.7" (1000 x 500 mm) can be doubled by repositioning and rotating the workpiece. Progressive move cylinders for auto repositioning of larger sheets are standard, and rear address work clamps permit the MAP-500 to accommodate oversize sheets. Control Features Appeal to Beginners and Advanced Users Nisshinbo equips the MAP-500 with its COPYNUC full CNC control. Even first-time users will find they can quickly master the controls dialogue-type G-code data entry, while experienced hands will recognize the controls powerful programming capabilities. The COPYNUC control features a standard RS-232C data transmission port and 3.5" diskette program storage. Wilson Wheel capable The MAP-500 can accommodate the new "Mechanical Wilson Wheel® Tools" for straight line applications. Specifications The MAP-500 offers simultaneous 3-axis control with axis speed of 800 ipm (20 mm/min) and production rates of 120 hpm at nibble and 1" (25 mm) centers. The standard 10-station turret is available in thin- or thick-style tooling configurations. Thin tooling feed clearance is .866" (22 mm); thick tooling clearance is .787" (20 mm). The MAP-500 operates on 230v or 460v 60-cycle AC power at 6.5 KVA, and requires airflow at 3.5 SCFM (150NL/min.). Special Pricing Eliminates Haggling and Hidden Costs Yet another attractive feature the MAP-500 shares with its bigger brothers in the Nisshinbo line is a unique no-haggle pricing policy that extends no special deals or volume discounts. All customers pay the same price the lowest price Nisshinbo can offer. This all-inclusive price covers the cost of shipping, rigging, installation, and on-site training. Nisshinbo serves as the single source of a complete system, providing customers large and small with the industrys most efficient and cost-effective means of purchasing fabricating technology.
